1-on-1 Assistance
Have a librarian to assist you with new or ongoing projects. Whether you are updating a resume or scanning old photos, we are here to help! Patrons are able to schedule one 60-minute appointment per week.
Computers & Internet
We have 58 public computers available and provide free public access wireless Internet (Wi-Fi). Our Wi-Fi SSID is: GlensidePLD. The library also offers computer classes on a variety of topics.
Databases
Find the best library databases for your research. All of our databases exhibit user-friendly design, reliable scholarship, and relevance for patrons of all ages with a wide range of research skills.
ELL & Literacy
Practice English skills at these drop-in ELL groups. If you prefer individual instruction, you may schedule a 30-minute session.
Exam Proctoring
As part of our support for life-long learning, we’re glad to serve as a proctoring site for your professional or student examination. We provide space to take written exams, as well as public access computers for online exams.
FAFSA Assistance
If you or your child are college-bound or enrolling in career school, a Glenside Library staff member will provide assistance filling out a Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA).
Forever Stamps
No need to head to the post office if you’re in need of stamps. Glenside Library sells booklets of 20 Forever Stamps for $14.60 at the Circulation desk.
Homebound Delivery
Why not let library come to you? Our dedicated team goes out into the community once a month, at a time convenient for you, to deliver books, audiobooks, and the latest movies and TV shows.
Immigration Services
Accredited Representatives at the Glenside Library can assist with applying for the following immigration benefits: Naturalization/Citizenship, Adjustment of Status (Green Card), Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA), and Family-Based Petitions in certain situations.
License Plate Renewals
Skip the long lines at the DMV and renew your license plate at Glenside Library. Illinois residents purchase and leave with their sticker the same day. You will need your Illinois Vehicle Registration Renewal Notice or Vehicle Identification Number (VIN), Driver’s license number and license plate number.
Notary Public
Notary service is available at no charge to library users. A notary acts as official, unbiased witness to the identity and signature of a person who appears before the notary for an oath or affirmation, or to sign a document.
Passports
Glenside Library is an official Passport Acceptance Facility of the U.S. Department of State. We accept DS-11 applications for NEW passports at the Circulation Desk. Appointments can be made up to one week in advance.
Print, Copy, Scan, Fax
Glenside Library offers a variety of document services to meet your needs, including printing, photocopying, scanning, and faxing, with free and low-cost options.
Room Reservation
Looking for a quiet place to study? Does your group need a place to meet? Providing public spaces to learn, collaborate, and create is a core library service available to the community.
Teacher Support
We support our local teachers! Glenside Library offers a variety of services to enhance your curriculum, including school visits, book bags, and assignment alerts.
Voter Registration
You can register in person at local City, Village, or Township Halls in DuPage County or at the Election Division’s office in addition to some libraries, including Glenside Library.
