Explore More Illinois Welcomes Lincoln Log Cabin

Explore More Illinois, RAILS’ online cultural and recreational pass program for Illinois libraries, welcomes its newest attraction, Lincoln Log Cabin in Lerna!

Lincoln Log Cabin State Historic Site, part of the Abraham Lincoln National Heritage Area, preserves the 19th-century home of Thomas and Sarah Bush Lincoln, Abraham Lincoln’s father and stepmother. Although Lincoln lived in Springfield by then, his law practice often brought him back to the farm, a portion of which he owned. Today, the 86-acre site, managed by the Illinois Department of Natural Resources, features a reconstructed two-room cabin built by the Civilian Conservation Corps, a working living history farm, the relocated Sargent Farmstead, the Moore Home—where Lincoln bid farewell to his family in 1861—and the gravesites of Thomas and Sarah Lincoln.

Lincoln Log Cabin is offering a Choice of a Free Item.
