  • The Kill Room by Jeffery Deaver (Lincoln Rhyme series #10) review

When U.S. citizen and vocal anti-American activist Roberto Moreno is shot and killed in a Bahamian hotel, New York ADA Nance Laurel begins to investigate the conspiracy that the murder was planned and ordered by a U.S. government official. Laurel asks Forensic expert (and quadriplegic) Lincoln Rhyme and his partner Amelia Sachs for help. The problem? There is virtually no physical evidence for the duo to examine. Plus, the Bahamian police have attributed the murder to a drug cartel and consider the case closed.

The tenth installment in Deaver’s excellent series, The Kill Room continues to showcase forensic science and delivers all the hallmarks fans have come to expect: a fast pace, red herrings, and enough twists to make you dizzy. This thrilling mystery can be read as a standalone, or you can start with The Bone Collector. Fans of Ridley Pearson’s series featuring Lou Boldt and Daphne Matthews, or Thomas Harris’s Hannibal Lecter books may also enjoy this title.
