Services for Teachers

Teachers and their students are important members of the Glenside Public Library Distrct community.  All teachers at schools located within the Glenside Public Library District are invited to take advantage of our services.

Materials

Book Bags - bulk loans on a topic of your chosing for use in your classroom.  Limited to 30 items.  Please give at least 3 working days notice.  Use this on-line form to request a book bag.

Big Books - Large-format books are perfect for at-home or preschool classroom storytelling.   

Reference Materials - including Groliers and World Book online

Learning Games: We have educational games and toys for a wide variety of subjects.  

Assignment Alert

Want to have materials set aside in the library for your students to use?  Submit an Assignment Alert to the Youth Services Desk.  Youth Services staff will contact you within 24 hours of your request to confirm that your assignment needs are met.

Visits to the Library

Storytimes:  Special story times in our Storytime Room.

Library tours:  Students learn how to use the library and its resources.

In-house computer and research skills instruction:  Lessons on how to find resources, build information literacy, use databases and more.

Booktalks:  Quick chats on new titles or books on specific themes.
