Here are some more books Glenside patrons enjoyed this summer:
The Fellowship of the Ring, first part of J.R.R. Tolkien's epic The Lord of the Rings turns fifty-eight years old today. The Lord of the Rings was first published on this date in London, England, by George Allen and Unwin. The publishers chose to publish the book in three parts because it was so long. The Two Towers was published on November 11, 1954, and The Return of the King was published on October 20, 1955.
Bastille Day commemorates the storming of the Bastille prison at the beginning of the French Revolution. Celebrate July 14th, France's National Day by checking out one of these books or movies about the French Revolution.
The Good Eats Book Club meets on Monday, July 16 at 7:00 P.M. We will be focusing on food fiction. Grab a book from the display in the lobby or get a list of chocolate related titles from the Adult Services Desk.
